Paper Strapping Specification

How Paper Strapping Works
Paper strapping is designed to run on semi-automatic paper banding machines. The machine tensions the strap around the bundle, then seals it with a heat-seal or ultrasonic welding process that bonds the paper fibers together — no metal seals, no plastic welding, and no additional consumables.

For heavy-duty palletizing, plastic or woven polyester strapping remains the right tool. For bundles of paper, cartons and textiles — which account for a huge share of daily bundling work — paper strapping delivers the same secure, tight package with zero plastic waste.
Storage & Handling Tips
Paper strapping is a natural fiber product, so a few simple handling rules keep it performing at its best:
- Keep it dry: store rolls in their original wrapping in a dry, covered area; avoid direct floor contact.
- Let it acclimatize: before use, leave new rolls in the packing area for several hours so the moisture content adjusts to room conditions.
- Seal the bag between runs: if rolls come in protective bags, reseal them overnight to maintain consistent welding performance.
- Rotate stock: use older rolls first — like all paper products, strap performs best within its recommended shelf life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is paper strapping strong enough for my products?
Yes — for bundling, not palletizing. A single 15 mm paper strap has a nominal breaking strength of 900 N (about 92 kg), and multiple straps can be applied in parallel. For heavy pallet loads, we recommend our PP, PET or polyester cord strapping instead. Send us your bundle weight and dimensions and we will recommend the right size.
Can I use paper strapping on my existing strapping machine?
Paper strapping runs on semi-automatic paper banding machines with heat-seal or ultrasonic welding. It cannot replace PP or PET strap on plastic strapping machines. If you are switching from plastic to paper, we can supply compatible banding machines together with the strap.
Can the strap stay on the bundle when it is recycled?
Yes. Because the strap is pure kraft paper with no plastic coating, it can remain on paper bundles and go straight into the waste-paper stream — no cutting, sorting or separation needed.
Is paper strapping affected by humidity?
Like all paper products, it is sensitive to moisture. In normal indoor conditions performance is stable; for humid environments we recommend controlled storage (see handling tips above) and consulting our team about suitable specs.
